Happy Easter (for last Sunday) hope you all haven't eaten too many Easter eggs that you've been sick :P

This post will have a few pictures of my dolls house,which Ive made into a Victorian style cafe downstairs and in the conservatory and the upstairs rooms are modern living spaces for the family.

On Saturday 16th April i went to a Dolls house fair and spent my Christmas money that i saved, i think i spent £85 and got some really cool stuff: A TV, Corner sofa, Dr.who books, Bambi DVD,2 Easter eggs, Chocolate box, Easter cake, Pond, Ice-cream stand, Drink dispenser, Seagull, Snakes and ladders game, Kid books, Beatrix Potter picture, Animal pictures, Poppy pictures and some other stuff too i think.

I'm not sure if you know this but I'm a huge fan of the compare-the-meerkat.com advert on TV, i think it's just so cute Lol well on one of the stalls they were selling miniature books for dolls house's so i went to have a look and i saw the meerkat book called `A simples Life` by Aleksandr Orlov which is the name of the meerkat in the advert so i just had to get that :D and i actually got some money for Easter of my auntie and uncle and nanna so i went to WHSmith and bought i human version of the book :) I'm just so cool.

Choosing a model...

Hello Again everyone!

So before i was talking about themes/designs for dolls houses, for example Cafes,Hotel's,Shop's or just a normal house.I said i would tell you more about models for your new doll's house.


Choosing your dolls house is one of the most important steps to start your new hobby because if you decide you don't like the dolls house you bought or regret getting one altogether then it'll be less enjoyable for you,also it's a very expensive hobby to decide you regret it.So once you have decided your theme
you need to look around different shops,online websites eg.Ebay,Amazon etc...
It is also crucial you consider the size you want and how much space you have, the last thing you want once you have bought the dolls house and ready to start is to find out you have no space!
Another point is are you considering getting a DIY kit where you have the dolls house but have to paint,build,decorate and furniture by your self or are you getting a ready built and decorated dolls house?

Choosing your dolls house

Long Time No Speak....


First of all i want to say Happy New Year! and hope you all had a lovely Christmas (i know its late Lol)
I know i did, got lots and lots of great things :D plus lots of money to spend at a dolls house fair in April lets hope i don't get tempted to spend it sooner Lol x

 In the last post (august 2010 :S eeekk) i introduced myself and a told you abit about myself and said i would tell you a few tips about choosing your own dolls house to make it unique in its own way.

So before you even start looking at different types of models you will need to have some ideas of how your going to make it unique and special to suit you-Remember having a dolls house is all about having fun so don't get to worked up about it, theres no rush!
You might want to consider about thinking of a theme or style to make it different, For example you might want your dolls house to be modern?, Or Victorian? there are many styles to choose from.Or maybe you don't want it to be a house, you might like it to be a gardening shop?,Fish and Chip shop?, A Cafe ect...Theres lots and lots =]
Once you have chosen your design/style you will need to look for a model suitable for your dolls house, i recommend not to buy the first one you see look in different shops even Ebay or Amazon. Take your time looking for the best one that will suit your purpose.

p.s- ill also write abit about my dolls house too :) maybe ill have to make a whole post dedicated to my dolls house i have lots to say about it Lol :)  i'm also going to try and write a post at least once every two weeks but i really going to try one every week coz i really slacked off before coz ive been busy with school work and now ive got lots of coursework and my options ect so yeah sorry about being lazy..Im also going to figure out how to put pictures up too

Hi!

I'm new here so please excuse any mistakes I make.

I'm 13 years old and I live on the Earth (I think) actually this is my world and you just live in it lol x

No really I'm 13 and usually know what I'm about on the Internet so for now I live on the Earth and you can call me Boo.

My Parents have a blog or two each so I thought I'd have a go myself I thought the best thing to write about would be my favorite hobby which is my dolls house.

Before I go any further lets just get some things out of the way .................I love rock music, one of my ambitions is to be a tattoo artist and my bedroom (and many of my clothes) sport pictures of skulls. Just because I have a dolls house doesn't make me a pretty pink girly girl (not that I have anything against girly girls!).

I've wanted a 'proper' dolls house since I was about 8 but as they aren't toys and are very expensive I didn't get one till I was 12. Buying one and collecting the things is expensive and a steep learning curve. I'm hoping that this blog may help someone to enjoy this hobby as much as i do without making many mistakes.

Next post I'll talk about choosing your dolls house
